Burt Carpenter

Burt has been at the forefront of the electronic payments movement. In 1987 he started by converting merchants from the old paper draft system to using the first electronic payment terminals. Today he and his team are involved with cutting edge payment systems including using the internet to transmit retail transactions, consulting with software developers and terminal manufacturers in the development of new products and he has relations with each of the major credit card companies. He is also involved with other non–cash transaction methods including ACH, check conversion, gift cards, and fuel fleet card systems. Of particular note are his accomplishments in the area of Internet payment processing.

· His was the first payment processors office to exhibit at Internet related tradeshows including Internet World and ISPcon

· One of his partners developed the Authorize.net payment gateway

· One of his partners signed Paypal with their first merchant account

· His office set up some of the first online stores with alliances with Guthy-Renker, I-Mall and other major clients

· His office set up the first merchant account for MySpace.com

· He has helped thousands of merchants set up payment processing systems

· His office has acted as the Merchant Services Division of several banks
